FURLA FEELING

This week, FURLA celebrated the opening of 71 Brompton road, it’s sparkly new store in Knightsbridge. The colours of the SS17 collection looked impressive against sleek cream fixtures, and allowed the bright tones to pop.  FURLA is an accessories brand that turns heads, and the new store was certainly designed to do the same. Set over two floors, the new retail space is complete with HD screens, mirrored glass, and vases of roses. There’s also a personalisation station, where you can buy a shoulder bag and choose three different coloured flaps to customise it with. In FURLA menswear, colour is also important. The best piece was a pair of black sleek boots with blue soles. For wallets and bags, shades of navy and grey abounded, and these were sometimes injected with orange which looked particularly striking. For the girls, if you’re looking for something small, a pom-pom keyring or pair of sunglasses, there’s a whole wall for that. Each product has it’s own pocket, so you can pick and mix as you wish. Print and embellishment is key to the new range, and my favourite piece was a dark teal, black and cream geometric shoulder bag. The statement bags would look great worn with all black, and the range offered a brilliant mix of shapes. Cross-bodies, bucket bags, and shoulder bags were the most favoured blocks, and purses were offered in a range of new season shades.  So if you’re like me, and summer dressing scares the hell out of you, (hello fellow monochrome addicts) then a bright FURLA bag from Brompton road is perfect to go with your black ensemble.
